Did you know you may be eligible for a free or discounted TV Licence? In certain situations, older people and those with disabilities can receive full exemptions or significant reductions, helping to lower household costs. Check the details below to see if you qualify.
👉 You can get a free TV licence if you are 75+ and:
receive Pension Credit, or
live in a household where someone receives Pension Credit
the licence covers everyone in your household
It is not automatic – you must apply!
You can apply at 74 if you already get Pension Credit (free cover starts after your 75th birthday)
👉 Discounts are also available:
£7.50 licence if you live in eligible residential care or sheltered accommodation (60+ or disabled)
50% discount if you are registered blind (licence must be in your name)
