How We Work

Who are we?

We are East European Resource Centre (EERC), a registered charity (no. 1114607) based in London.

We are here to offer advocacy, advice and support to people from Central and Eastern Europe living in the UK. We help you to fight poverty and abuse.

We want London to be a safe, accessible and integrated home to Eastern European migrants. A place where we can make informed choices about our families, our work, and our homes – where we can live fulfilling lives as respected members of local communities.

How do we help?

We can offer advice about immigration matters , help you understand your rights around housing and welfare benefits , and practical information about living in the UK .

We also provide support to people who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse or hate crime .

Our service is open to all Eastern and Central Europeans. Our advisers speak English, Romanian, Polish, and Ukrainian. We can help in other Eastern European languages through professional interpreters.

Understanding how a charity works

Registered charities are common in the UK. These are often organisations that offer additional support to people who are in difficult situations such as poverty or illness. Each charity helps in different ways. EERC is here to help Eastern and Central Europeans.

We are a fully independent charity – not a part of the government or any other organisation.

We provide a confidential and professional service. Our staff and volunteers work extremely hard to support clients to achieve the best outcomes possible– however, like any other service, there are many problems we can help with and some we cannot. We will not tolerate any abuse of our staff, volunteers, or clients.

If you believe that you received service from us that was not to a standard that you expected, you can make a complaint. To make a complaint, please contact any member of staff or call our helpline and we will guide you through the process.
